Based upon traditional Bullwhip construction techniques, 8mm strips of pure Kevlar are opted for to provide our whips with a closer resemblance in feel, response and flexibility to many 16 plait leather or PH Bullwhips.

I was proudly taught how to craft these whips by Flowmancer, who is Australia's most skilled PH whip and fire whip-maker, after which I then ran his fabrication department for 6 years constructing and shipping these whips globally.

Our fire Bullwhips also boast a host of unique attributes that accommodate for the reality that whips made from hand-plaited Kevlar suffer abnormally high self-abrasive wear just from general use.

For double-whipping:

3.5"/107cm - 4.5"/137cm Thongs are recommended for faster action and less fatigue.

For single whipping:

5"/152cm and above are recommended for larger burn-offs and louder cracks/pops.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

Kevlar and Technora are heat and chemical resistant, NOT fire-proof. Make sure to take extra care when fuelling and burning to only fuel the recommended area stated in the product manual.

Whips in general are extremely dangerous instruments. Please only purchase if you already have proficient experience and safety training with Bull Whips.

Always seek to use eye protection, your vision is more important than validation.

Our fire whips must not be used for day-training without fire as this will further increase unnecessary wear that may result in early preventable failure. Please use PH or Leather bull whips for training purposes.

Having thin layers of intricately braided Kevlar strands rubbing against each other whilst also being soaked in volatile chemicals and on fire, even though it may withstand it for a while, is a prime example of the limitations of this material...

So how do we accommodate for these facts?

Reducing the friction

We use a proprietary tapered internal wicking system that reduces the need for multiple braided layers.
This feature provides several benefits:

1. The whip Belly is braided on top of this absorbent structure giving us the desired shape, functionality and feel.

2. An overlay is then woven as a final layer meaning that, compared to some other brands, for our whips there are only 2 layers of Kevlar in contact, significantly reducing wear through friction and increasing flexibility without affecting performance and fuel absorption.

Functionality and serviceability

Due to the fact that these instruments inherently deteriorate through movement, we have made a focus on several components to be easily replaceable by the artist through the clever utilisation of the strong and trusted Brummel splice.

1. Detachable Kevlar crackers for easy fitting of the most consumable part of a whip.

2. Detachable Technora falls allow for fine tuning the performance of your whip through different lengths and providing serviceability when wear reaches dangerous levels.

3. Removeable handles again allow for fine tuning the size and performance of the whip but also help compact and protect the instrument for travel.

4. Our replaceable Kevlar overlay means that when the time inevitably comes to restore your whip to box fresh performance, you can send it back to us for extremely fast servicing without the need to dismantle any of the internal structures.
